Within the CTI process hyperloop, production is the process of establishing a defined service catalog, aligning strategic, operational, and tactical intelligence to specific users, use cases, and stakeholder requirements.
What is Tactical Production?
Depending on your organization’s specific use cases, this phase converts refined CTI data into technical intelligence products at varying intervals to directly support security operations. It centers heavily on managing indicators of compromise (IOCs) and known malicious behaviors to produce clear deliverables, such as threat actor or malware profiles, geographic threat analyses, hunt playbooks, critical asset threat models, and real-time alerts. By integrating these tools into daily security workflows, it arms teams with the context needed to support investigations, streamline alert triage, and build robust detections.
Tailoring Intelligence to Your Audience
Intelligence production is not a one-size-fits-all process. The structure, technical depth, and delivery mechanism of each product must match the requirements of its intended consumer. To be effective, products must be mapped to three distinct types of intelligence, each determined by the specific audience it serves:

- Format and Ingestion: Tactical CTI must be frictionless. Whenever possible, deliverables should be highly structured and machine-readable (e.g., STIX/TAXII formats) so they can be automatically ingested by your SIEM, firewalls, and SOAR platforms without manual translation. Integration means ensuring intelligence is actively utilized—whether that is informing detections by updating SIEM rules and tuning EDR policies, or guiding prevention mechanisms by aligning controls with MITRE ATT&CK mitigations.
